I'm New
We meet and worship in a modern building and try to provide accessible and child-friendly services where young and old alike can worship God.
We are enthusiastic in expressing our Christian faith, and God is doing great things with our church. We are exploring what it means to be utterly loved by God and then to live new lives in Christ in the power and love of the Holy Spirit.

If you would like to explore with us, then you will always find a warm welcome.
What should I expect when I visit the church?
You will receive a warm welcome from our Wardens and church members, who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. The order of service and the song words will appear on screens, so there is no need to have books.
There are no set seats - simply find yourself a chair.
Tea, coffee and cake are served after the service in the adjoining Ashenground Community Centre hall, where there will be plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions. Toilet facilities are available in the Community Centre.
What happens to children at church?
We welcome children of all ages to The Ascension and our services. For very young children and their parents, there is a carpeted creche area at the back of the church with toys and books available for children to enjoy. At our 10am service on the second and third Sundays, children stay with their parents for the first part of the service as we sing and pray together. After this, children and their leaders either go into the hall for linked teaching and activities, or meet at the back of the church. Other Sunday services are designed to be accessible for all, young and old alike, and our young people are encouraged to be engaged in various parts.
Is there a dress code?
No. Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
Will I have to join in?
Not at all. You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
I have more questions. How can I get in touch and ask them?
Please feel free to contact us. If you want to know who's who in the church, check out our Ascension People page.
