Because of the Coronavirus measures the Church of England have suspended all acts of public worship until further notice.
For the forseeable future there will be no regular services in the Ascension.*
However, as the Archbishops have said, “That far from having to ‘shut up shop’, the Church of England must face the challenge by becoming a radically different kind of church rooted in prayer and serving others.”
(*If you are in the sad situation of needing to arrange a funeral, arrangements can still be made. Please contact Rev’d Martin Jones on 07933 341604)
God of compassion,
be close to those who are ill, afraid or in isolation.
In their loneliness, be their consolation;
in their anxiety, be their hope;
in their darkness, be their light;
through him who suffered alone on the cross,
but reigns with you in glory,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
“The welcome is so seductive – not only did people talk to me the first and second time I came, but consistently ever since. And yet it’s never felt forced and always felt more than ‘just’ being welcomed. I felt wanted. Going anywhere on your own when you’re used to being one of a couple or family unit can be daunting, but I don’t even think of that when coming to church.”
All are welcome to our church services so please come and join us.
